Navajo Marine Code Talkers

In World War II, the Marines used Navajo soldiers to link troops in the Pacific war. The code was never broken. The project remained "TOP SECRET " for decades after the war ended. Here is the official story.

Unknown Code Talker Fact

Not every Code Talker was Navajo. They did however all speak fluent Navajo. Steve Wallace of Gallup, New Mexico is one of the rare anglo or beligaana Code Talkers that gave service alsong side their Dine' brothers. These men were also awarded the same gold medal honoring their efforts and service to America.
